PART 2
HOW TO RECOGNIZE THE ANOINTING:
Inner Transformation
Romans 12:2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God change you into a new person, by transforming the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good, pleasing and perfect.
Deuteronomy 7:6 For you are a holy people who belong to the Lord, your God. Of all the people on earth, the Lord your God has chosen you to be His special treasure.
Outward Manifestation
Deuteronomy 28:10 Then all the nations of the world will see that you are a people claimed by the Lord and they will stand in awe of you.
1 Peter 2:11-12 Dear friends, I warn you, as “temporary residents and foreigners’ to keep away from worldly desires which wage war against your very souls. 12 Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when He judges the world.
1 Peter 3:1-2 In the same way, wives must accept the authority of their husbands. Then, even if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over, 2 by observing your pure and reverent lives.
Projection of Power
Mark 16:17-18 These miraculous signs will accompany those whom believe: they will cast out demons in My Name, and they will speak with new languages. 18 They will be able to handle snakes with safety and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.
These three build on each other.
Without a true inner transformation, all we have will be a phony outward show… hypocrisy.
Our display of natural abilities, gifts, charisma, will be mistaken for the anointing.
The 7 sons of Sceva tried to project power without being transformed.
The church is perhaps making the same mistake today.
We need to settle the question of inner transformation. If God is with us, we should have victory in our private lives over all the works of the flesh.
Leviticus 19:1-2 The Lord also said to Moses, 2 “Give the following instructions to the entire community of Israel. You must be holy, because I, the Lord your God, am holy.”
Galatians 5:19-21 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness,, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
