Part 3b Biblical Joy
Sharing Our Joy
We may not be able to fix what someone may be going through but we can still bring them the joy of the Lord.
Proverbs 15:23 (NKJV) “A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!”
1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NLT) “So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.”
We are not just called to possess joy; we are called to become carriers of it.
Joy Robbers
Beware of The Robbers of Your Joy
Recognizing what drains, distracts from, or competes with our joy
A joy robber is anything that begins to pull our hearts away from the truth of who God is and causes our circumstances to become louder than our confidence in Him.
John 10:10 (ESV) “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
Steal- our joy
Kill-our peace
Destroy-our contentment
The enemy wants to drain what Christ came to fill.
Abundance of peace
Abundance of strength
Abundance of His love
Abundance of grace
Abundance of JOY
Eternal Joy
REVELATION 21:4 (ESV) “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
John 16:22 (NLT) “So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy.”
Isaiah 35:10 (NLT)” Those who have been ransomed by the LORD will return. They will enter Jerusalem singing, crowned with everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be filled with joy and gladness.
Romans 8:18 (ESV) “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”
