Revival: The Greatest Need of Our Time
Revival: God Moving At The Speed of The Spirit
Why do we need revival?
When things have been too bad, for too long, in politics, business, family, etc, we need a revival.
When we can no longer say, I was glad when they said unto me let us go into the house of the Lord, we need a revival.
When church attendance is down and even those who go hardly encounter God's presence.
When the Presence and the Power of God have become historical accounts, when there are no more living witnesses of the last move of God, we need a revival.
When the church is no longer shining as the light of the world, but rather when the darkness is getting thicker in the church than it is outside, we need a revival.
Revival is God’s Great Reset.
When God has given far too many micro-corrections, there are only two options left…. Revival or judgment.
Because God is merciful, He delays in bringing judgment. 2 Peter 3:9 LSB
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some consider slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
Because God is merciful,He delays in sending revival. Revivals are dangerous times. The power of God is released at such a high voltage, if it is not carefully harnessed, it can be destructive.
God only brings revival when His people are ready.
People are only prepared when they have tarried long enough, to be imbued with the grace to handle power.
The Divine Strategy for Revival
2 Chronicles 7:14 LSB
and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their evil ways, then I will listen from heaven, I will forgive their sin, and I will heal their land.
This is the divine strategy for revival
Every fire of revival was sparked by a godly man somewhere using this Divine Strategy
The responsibility for revival is placed on the shoulders of God's people.
If my people:
God is not unrighteous, so He addresses His people first.
1 Peter 4:17 LSB
For it is time for judgment to begin with the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?
1 Peter 4:17-18 NKJV
For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? [18] Now "If the righteous one is scarcely saved, Where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?"
Who are called by my Name:
Even among God’s people, there is a distinction. He is addressing those who identify with Him by answering to His Name.
Shall humble themselves: the proud looks at himself for strength and blames everybody else. The humble takes responsibility and looks to the Lord for strength.
And pray: Pray, not play church. Pray, not complain. Pray like our lives depend on it. Pray with importunity
And seek my face: This is a special kind of prayer… one that seeks the face of the Lord, not His hands. When we seek His hands we sprang stuff, but when we seek His face we seek His pleasure. We are happy only when He is happy. We are saddened by the things that break His heart.
And turn from their wicked ways: Our spiritual activity must not be undermined by our physical conduct. We cannot continue in sin so that grace may abound. We prove the seriousness of our prayers by the works of our hands and the walk of our feet. Otherwise, we are hypocrites who draw near with their mouths, but whose hearts are far from God. Let him who stole steal no more, (Ephesians 4:28)
